Emerson's Sustainability Framework

Learn how Colgate is "Greening" by using Emerson products.
Emerson's sustainability framework comprises of three primary approaches.

Greening of, how we improve our internal environmental sustainability performance.

Greening by, how we support and enable our customers’ decarbonization and environmental sustainability efforts.

Greening with, how we foster collaboration among stakeholders such as industry forums, academic institutions and governments to support sustainability-related policies and regulations.
Each Emerson business is using this framework to drive sustainability progress. The following examples are related to our Solenoid & Pneumatics and Welding, Assembly & Cleaning product lines.
Greening of
We have embedded in our management processes a philosophy of sustainability when it comes to how we manage our plants and our processes. Programs on each site have identified many improvement opportunities, ongoing “treasure hunts” are identifying more each week.

These improvements can be as simple as supplying refillable water bottles and coffee cups or as complex as the adoption of our own technologies to drive improvements at our manufacturing sites.

Greening by

Many of our new products have been developed specifically with sustainability in mind, whether these are TESCOM Valves and regulators used in hydrogen fuel cells, electrolyzers and fuel dispensing, or Branson ultrasonic welders used to bond the advanced materials found in modern batteries.
Greening with

Fostering collaboration among stakeholders can happen several meaningful ways, both locally and globally. It means participating in leading sustainability industry forums, partnering with institutions to drive sustainable innovation and engaging with governments to support sustainability-related policies and regulations.
